Q: If my child wants to work one-on-one with the teacher or catch up, what can he or she do?
A: On the registration page, you can sign up for our tutoring (one-on-one) package and get two sessions a week after class hours. The teacher will work with you or your child to schedule a time.
Q: What will my child learn?
Depending on the age group, your child will learn the basic concepts of programming, this will include the theory and practical side of programming. The younger group will be using GUI’s (Graphical User Interfaces) to grasp programming concepts whereas the older kids will use languages such Python to write code. Regardless of the age-group, your child will be able to write code from ground up. Older and more mature children will learn how to code and develop web pages and web applications.
Q: Does my child need to have any background to participate in this program?
Not at all, our classes start from ground up and are geared for children who have no background at all
Q: Are the sessions pre-recorded or live?
The sessions are all live and each session is recorded and shared with students afterwards.
Q: HOW MUCH TIME WILL MY CHILD BE CODING AND WHEN?
Parents can choose how much time they want their kids coding each week. We have options for each. If you’d like your child to code, every day of the week for one hour we have a two-week program or a month long coding program. If one wants their kids to learn code one or two times a week, we have semester long programs and year-long programs. After one determines how many times a week work, one can decide on what time fits best: either 1-2pm EST, 2-3pm EST, 3-4pm EST, 4-5pm EST or 7-8pm EST. We have a class minimum of 6 people. So if the time you have chosen doesn’t have that minimum, we will let you know. Please see the class schedule on the registration page.
Q: Can students ask questions? Is this interactive?
Yes, all students will have the ability to ask questions and get involved in the class. This is meant to be an interactive experience
Q: Are there any assignments? Tests?
There will be assignments and activities. The goal is to materialize the concepts into real code.
Q: If the current Coronavirus continues, will classes continue beyond the current schedule?
We certainly hope and pray that life will come back to normal; but if things continue as they are now, we do plan to continue with the sessions until it subsides.
Q: Can I sign up for a day at a time or do I sign up for a session at a time?
You sign up for a two week session.
Q: Can my child participate from the comfort of our own home?
Yes, all classes are virtual in nature. We are using tools that enable your child to participate in a class while being at home. Despite not being in a real classroom, your child will be able to see the instructor, get access to shared material, ask questions, and collaborate. All in real time!
Q: If I just learned about it and a session is running, can my child start fresh?
Yes. Every two weeks, we will be running both fresh new sessions and sessions that build on the previous one(s).
Q: If requested, can I get a refund for the course?
Initially, all registrations are refundable before the start date of the class. After that, they are not refundable. We need to make sure there are enough kids in each section. If there are not, you will be refunded upon notification of the class not running.
Q: When will the Online Sessions/Classes begin?
The first sessions will begin on the week of September 14th.
Q: What will I receive after I sign up?
You will receive a class schedule, a link to join the class via our online communication platform (in which your child will interact with our teacher (in real time), online access to the online coding platform your child will use to code, and recordings (after each class).
